mTape/mRack Error Codes
A “C” is showing on the front of my mTape/mRack. What do I do?
The LTO drive in your mTape/mRack needs to be cleaned. To clean the LTO drive, insert a cleaning cartridge into mTape/mRack. The drive performs the cleaning automatically in less than 2 minutes and then ejects the cartridge. The drive will perform a short load and unload test while ejecting the drive. Wait for the drive to finish before removing the cartridge.
Note: Cleaning cartridges are good for 50 cleanings. mTape/mRack will automatically eject an expired cleaning cartridge.
A “5” is showing on the front of my mTape/mRack. What do I do?
Error code 5 indicates that there may be a hardware problem with the LTO tape drive. To prevent damage to the drive or tape, the tape drive will not allow you to insert a cartridge if the current cartridge was successfully ejected. The error code may clear when you cycle power to mTape/mRack. If the problem persists, please contact support@mlogic.com
A “6” is showing on the front of my mTape/mRack. What do I do?
Error code 6 indicates that there may be a tape drive or media error. The tape drive determined that an error occurred, but it cannot isolate the error to faulty hardware or to the tape cartridge. Make sure that the tape cartridge you are using is compatible with your mTape/mRack. If the problem persists, please contact support@mlogic.com
